With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lillie Bell Dowey Fisher (Waynesboro, Virginia), born in Lugoff, South Carolina, who passed away on September 9, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolphus Dowey and Mary Melita Branham Dowey; her husband Calvin Lyndall Fisher (Lyn); her grandson Douglas Alexander Fisher (Alex); and her sister Betty Lou McCaskill.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Gardin (Arthur) of Clemmons, NC, Douglas Keith Fisher of Huntersville, NC and Calvin Lyndall Fisher Jr. of Willamsburg, VA; her grandchildren, Tracy Lynn Moorcones (Matt) of Charlotte, NC and Calvin Wayne Breeden (Bailey) of Daly City, CA; her great grandchildren, Banks and Bennett Moorcones; and her niece Jeanne Hope McCaskill of Clemmons, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She served on the board and was an active member of the American Cancer Society for many years, providing transportation for patients receiving cancer treatment to and from UVA.
