She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Isdore Durrette and Elizabeth Tate Brooks Durrette. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Wayne Carter; her daughters, Litisha D. Cokley of Fairburn and Lekisha N. Antwi of Fishersville; her grandchildren, Treyonna C. Cokley of Fairburn and Ikeyca A. White of Fishersville; her siblings, Dorothy L. Allen Lee (Fay) and Harry Isdore Durrette; her nephews, Stephen L. Lee and Justin Lee; her aunt Margaret Brooks Turner; her cousin Patricia Flipping; and her friend Nilda Veney.

Due to Covid-19 the family will have a private funeral service that will be conducted by The Rev. Sheldon Page, Sr.
