She was predeceased by: her father Johnny Morris; her husband Ben Leeroy Staton; and her daughters, Barbara Proffitt, Deborah Staton and Brenda Jacobs.

She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Sipe (Bobby) of Waynesboro, VA and Ben Staton of Crozet, VA; and her siblings, David Morris (MaryLou) of Charlottesville, VA and Mae McDaniel (Raymond) of Esmont, VA.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
