She was predeceased by: her husband Mack "Sonny" Chapman Kester of Waynesboro; her parents, Jess W. Vines and Margaret H. Vines; her daughter Patricia Ann Vines Kester; her sister Patricia Ann Knopp; and her siblings-in-law, Sue Ellen Kester, Jim Moore and Simon Knopp.
She is survived by: her children, Mack Chapman Kester II (Elizabeth) of Chesapeake and Reneé Kester Walter (Jeff) of Waynesboro; her sister-in-law Peggy Moore; her grandchildren, Brandon Walter (Michelle), Brittany Walter Sherrill (Andy), Benjamin Kester and Samantha Kester; and her great grandchildren, London, Ramsey Walter, River and Nash Sherrill.
