He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Viar Lonas; his parents, Walter Lonas and Ruby Lonas; and his brothers, Walter and Allan Lonas.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Lonas, Catherine, Jim Metze, Susan and John Fersner; his grandchildren, Allen, Sarah Lonas of Arkansas, Sarah Goforth of Milwaukee, Andrew Lonas, Callahan Hager of London, England, Victoria Agop of Charlottesville, Jonathan Metze of Charlotte, NC, Dylan Fersner of Waynesboro, Savannah Fersner and Emmett Crawford of Richmond; his great grandchildren, Emma, Kate Lonas, TJ, Tyler Goforth, Oliver, Elliott Agop and James Metze; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Green and Albert Clark. He is also survived by children and grandchildren, and extended family.
