It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elwood Ira Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, Virginia, born in Nelson, Virginia, who passed away on October 14, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Newton and Hannah P. Fitzgerald (Philipps); his wife Gladys Fitzgerald; his daughter Rebecca Lucas; his granddaughter Anglea Lucas; and his siblings, Eldrige Fitzgerald, Joe Fitzgerald, James Fitzgerald, Ralph "Tojio" Fitzgerald of Ed Fitzgerald, J. R, Wilber "Red" Fitzgerald, Robert Fitzgerald and Maggie Allen.
He is survived by: his son Randy Fitzgerald; his grandsons, Dallas, Eric and Chris Fitzgerald; his great grandchildren, Molly Emmy and Allie Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Jean Miller and Geraldine Clements. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
