She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Ray and Joy Leigh Chestnut (Sivley). She is survived by: her son Dakota L. Riley of Waynesboro; her sister Dawn Atkins (Thomas) of Staunton; her nieces, Jennifer Leech and Amber Pullin; and her former husband Chester Lee Riley. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her pet cat.
