He was predeceased by: his parents, Kent Fontaine Guthrie and Lottie May Guthrie; his wife Adeline Christian Guthrie; his siblings, Judy Guthrie Davidson and Tom Guthrie; his stepchildren, Madeline Alexander, Roger Gayle Miller and Ann Miller; and his granddaughter Sandra Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Smith; his grandchildren, Darrell Alexander (Stella), Jennifer Alexander, Donald Miller (Mary Peters), William Smith, Julie Miller and Wendy Hunt; his sister-in-law Shirley Guthries; and his caregivers, Judy Smith, Wendy Hunt, Daniel Hunt, Pam Yowell, Cindy Waggy, Dawn Phillips and Kathy Toms. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (301 S Wayne Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
