He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Sr. Hamlin and Sarah Hamlin; and his siblings, Wyatt Hamlin, Helena Drew, Jean Harris and Ruby Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth "Becky" Boykins of McKenney, VA; his grandson Maurice Drew, Jr. of Newport News, VA; his great grandchildren, LaiLonnie and Isaiah Drew of Hampton, VA; his brother Norman Hamlin of Newark, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Justina Stith (Earl) of Waverly, VA, Doreen Drew of Waverly, VA, Angela Drew (Chyrl) of Los Angeles, CA, Monique Taylor (Greg) of Richmond, VA, James Harris of Tampa, FL and Steven Harris (Lillie) of High Point, NC; and his close friend Zulene Turner.
