He was predeceased by: his parents, Chelsea T. Johnson and Ruth Elizabeth Williams Johnson; and his siblings, Floyd, Walter Johnson and Addie Rebecca Johnson Crocker.
He is survived by: his siblings, Chester Johnson of Waverly, VA and Doretha Johnson H. Giles; his brother-in-law Bishop Willie Giles, Jr. of Suffolk, VA.; his nephew Wyatt "Buddy" Hamlin of Suffolk, VA; and also Pastor Willie T. Williams, Sr. of Portsmouth, VA.
