He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Mae Hobson (Harrison) and Millard J. Hobson, Sr.; his brother Millard J. Hobson, Jr.; and his son James A. Spratley. He is survived by: his son Antoine D. Hobson; his daughter-in-law Wateria L. Hobson; his grandchildren, Timesha M. Hargrave, Robert T. Hobson, Gabrielle K. Hobson, James R. Hobson, Jr., Avori L. Hobson, Serenity L. Hobson and Jasmine A. Cuebas; his great grandchildren, Karmyn A. Walker and Heaven S. Hargrave; and his siblings, Deloris Harris, Yvonne Hobson, Brenda Brown, Kennedy Hobson (Rose) and Andre Hobson. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803).
