He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee K. Freeman and Mary B. Turner; and his siblings, Robert "Carnell" Freeman, Joseph "Bubba" Freeman, Jean C. Freeman, Mary Edith Freeman and Mattie "Mickey" Glisson.
He is survived by: his wife Elnora P. Freeman of Petersburg, Virginia; his daughter Shawn E. Gray (George) of Stafford, Virginia; his grandsons, Terron A. Gray of Hopewell, George S. Gray of Orlando and Tae Woods of Lynchburg, Virginia; his great grandchildren, Termarien, Tigger, Nova "Lil Suga" Gray of Hopewell and Matteo "Grayson" Gray of Louisville, Kentucky; his siblings, Mildred "Sissy" Hines (late Marshall) of Yale, Dorothy "Ann" Clinkscales of Yale, Virginia and Harland "Whimpy" Freeman of Yale, Virginia; his sister-in-law Mary E Mack (late MacArthur) of Tyler, Texas; and his nieces, Marsha, Lyne and Granderson.
