With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arthur Lee Sheffield of Waverly, Virginia, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on June 17, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Cleveland Sheffield and Gracie Harrup Sheffield; his wife Barbara Ann Sheffield; his son Paul Eugene Sheffield; his stepson Randy Joe Cowan; and his siblings, Cleveland Sheffield, George Sheffield, Richard Sheffield, James Sheffield and Audrey Sheffield Morris.
He is survived by: his former wives, Gladys Crawley Sheffield and Alice Bowden Sheffield; his children, Larry Dean Sheffield and Virginia Fayellen Brooks of Waverly, VA.; his sister Marie Sheffield Jones of Windsor, VA; and his stepchildren, Wanda Lowrie Stanley, Robert Elgin Lowrie (Laura), Carl Easton Cowan (Kathy), Kent Jackson Cowan, Mary Lane Hise (Curtis), Dwayne Sexton Cowan and Shawn Scott Cowan (Nancy). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
