It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Mae Rose of Washington, Virginia, born in Dickenson County, Virginia, who passed away on December 10, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Duty and Sarah Stevens Duty; her husband Virgil Rose; her son Terry Rose; her brothers, Howard, Charlie and James Duty; her grandmother Gay Rose; her daughter-in-law Mary Lou Rose; and her sister Martilla Holbrook of Dante, Virginia.

She is survived by: her children, Jerry Rose of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Rosella Walley of Marion, Virginia; her grandchildren, John and Samantha Cantrell; her great grandchildren, Sarah Rose Cantrell, Noah Wesley Cantrell, Rylie Cantrell, Cheyenne Cantrell and John Standridge; and her great great grandchildren, Aidan and Mason Stillwell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
