She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Marian Worcester Place and Russell Pope Place; her brothers, Russell Pope Place, Jr. and David Worcester Place; her niece Sabrina Place; her children, Marian Worcester Carter "Polly" of Palm Desert, Burr Noland Carter III (Richmond), Edward Hill Carter "Ned" of Charlottesville and Sarah Carter Grey (Schuyler) of Denver; her grandchildren, Blair Carter, Teddy, Garretson Carter, Carter Grey Feldhoff and Ryan; and also Dr. Burr Noland Carter II.
