We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2020, at the age of 102, Lillian M. Duke (Washington, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Bruce Moody, Sr. and Barbara Coghill Noel Moody; her siblings, Melvin Bruce, Jr., Elizabeth Moody Kelly, Virginia Rose Moody Wallinger and Barbara Noel Moody Morris; her husband Lunsford Andrew Duke, Sr.; and her daughter Barbara Bruce Duke Jones.
She is survived by: her son-in-law J. Ernest Jones, Jr.; her son L. Andrew Duke, Jr. (Rebecca D. Duke); her granddaughter Anne Noel Jones Dawson (Alec); her great grandchildren, Katherine and William; her grandson John E. Jones III (Krista); her great grandchildren, J. E. IV "Jack" and Stefan; her granddaughter Barbara Sagle Jones Purcell (C. Tupper "Tup"); her great grandchildren, Addison Purcell, C. T., Jr. and Carter; her grandson Matthew Etheridge Duke (Kathleen); her great grandchildren, Gadsden (Hayden) and Peter; her grandchildren, Catherine Trice Duke, John Michael Duke, Jr. and David Andrew Duke (Lauren); and her great grandchildren, Avery and Alexandra Lillian. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
