He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Truelove Newton; and his former wife Lottie Spence Newton. He is survived by: his father Fred Whitaker; his wife Diana Whitlatch Newton; his daughters, Carrie Newton Struble (Earl) of Raleigh, NC and Lillie Ruth Newton (Frank Guzek) of Charlotte, NC; his grandson Alex Fisher Struble of Charlotte, NC; and his siblings, Ellie Rose Struble of Raleigh, NC, Faye Alice Struble of Charlotte, NC., Dale Alan Newton (Emmie) of Greenville, NC, Betsy Newton Herman (Dennis) of Candler, NC and Sharon Newton of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of South Parkersburg (2333 Pike St, Parkersburg, WV 26101). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Fred's honor to the First Congregation Church of Marietta Fellowship Hall Fund at 318 Front St., Marietta, OH. 45750 or to the SPCA at spcai.org/donate, or to a charity of choosing.
