He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Thomas and Vera Ineta McPhail; his wife Sara; his daughter Sara Douglas Harris (Allen); and his brothers, James and William.
He is survived by: his son Phil; his grandchildren, Blaker, Holly McPhail, Jay Dixon, Sarah McPhail Giacometti, Rod, Doug and Scott Harris; his sister-in-law Theria McPhail; his nephew Dan McPhail (Gwen); and his nieces, Billie Carol McPhail and Jan Moon (Bill).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Enfield United Methodist church, 209 Whitfield St., Enfield, NC 27823R.W.
