He was predeceased by: his parents, Straughan Packett and Gwendolyn Packett; and his sister Jean Bareford. He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Packett; his children, Tammy Coates (Timmy), Lisa Whelan (Keith), Crystal Packett (Aaron) and Randy Packett (Heather); his granddaughters, Jessica, Melissa Coates, Jordan, Jenna, Julia, Jaden Whelan, Olivia Packett and Reagan Newsome; and his great grandchildren, William "Brant" Coates Morse and Chaysen Neale Coates.
