He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Lillian Venable (Morris) of Bluefield; his wife Peggy Venable (Williams); his son Lee Roy Venable, Jr.; and his siblings, Babe Ruth Bruce (Venable), Helen Spalding (Venable), Francis Spicer (Venable), Estelle, James Thomas "Bill" Venable and Danny Venable.
He is survived by: his sons, Edward Ray Venable (Shannon) and James Thomas Venable (Beth); his grandchildren, Courtney Venable, Joshua Killinger (Vicky), Hunter Venable, Melissa Johnston (Christopher) and Joann Bowman (James); his great grandchildren, Isla, Helena Killinger, Henry, Paul, Catherine, Andrew Johnston, Della, Charlotte and Brixton Bowman; and his nieces and nephews, Tina Cook, Jami Woolwine, Missy Crouch, Vicky Toney, Kelly Elkins, Kimberly Baldwin, Sherry Martin, Johnny Bruce, Bob Bruce, Bill Bruce, Dale Cadle, Larry Williams, Jeff Crouch and Bill Crouch.
