He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Lunsford and Elizabeth Morris Sydnor; his wife Joyce Lochte Sydnor; and his siblings, Otho Lunsford Sydnor, Jr., Hester Sanford, Louise Sydnor, Thelma Sanders, Effie Manly and Margaret Sydnor.
He is survived by: his children, John Morris Sydnor, Jr. (Brenda), Edward Lee Sydnor (Trisha), Gregory Otho Sydnor (JoAnn) and Lenna Sydnor Daiger (Tim); his grandchildren, Jessica Sydnor (Jeff Morris), Sarah Daiger (Stacy Critchfield), Leah Sydnor Rawley (Daniel), Emily Sydnor (Jakob Miner), Brian Daiger (Mary), Katrin Sydnor (Alex Constantinou) and Joseph Martin Otho Sydnor; his great grandchildren, Raelynd Kate Daiger and Charlie Bay Daiger; his siblings, James Sydnor (Dora), William O. Sydnor (Courtney), Emma Phillips, Ann Howell and Janet Williamson (Colin); his pet Lily; and his caregiver Bernita "Boo" Payne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and his very special companion.
