He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Marvin Jewell, Sr. and Maud Marion McNeal Jewell; his wife Rebecca Jones Jewell; his granddaughter Jessica Lynn Hayes; his great grandchild Rebecca; and his siblings, Berkley Jewell (Hilda), Hilda Jewell, Pauline Swann (Irving), Elise Murphy (Charles), Eldine Mould (George), Lloyd M. "L. M." Jewell (Irma Lee), Annette Newman (Milton), Maxine Beatley (Freddie) and Robert Jewell (Anne).

He is survived by: his children, Linda Jewell Hayes (Bob) and Frank C. Jewell; his grandson Jason Hayes (Jenn); his great grandchildren, Jacob Hayes, Stephen Hayes and Addison Hayes; his brother Richard Jewell (Irene); his sister-in-law Anne Balderson Jewell; and his nephews, Lee Beatley and Charles Swann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends, neighbors and his church family.
