He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Orman I and Helen Patricia "Pat" Bayliff; and his brothers, Calvin II and Michael. He is survived by: his wife Alysia; his children, Sarah, Richard Jr., Nicole and Zackery; and his siblings, Claudia, Patricia "Penny", Leslie and Gregory.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moser Funeral Home, Inc. (233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton, VA 20186). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers (plants preferred), donations can be made to the Dare County Sheriff's 2025 Summer Camp S.A.L.T. in his honor for helping at risk youth.
