She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Walter Messick and Myrtie Lindamood Messick; and her siblings, Pearline Nicklin, Margie Smith, Ralph Wilson Messick, John David Messick, Mary Jordan and Julia Walters.
She is survived by: her sons, Richard Wayne Ryan (Bonnie) of Harrisonburg, VA and Dwight Wesley Ryan of Warrenton; her sister Cula Mae Adams (Edgar W. Messick, Jr.) of New Oxford, PA; and her grandchildren, JoEllen Furtner (Tom), Shannon Ryan Weisbrodt (Bill) and Brandon Ryan (Stephanie). She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
