She was predeceased by: her father Cecil Giles; and her husband William E. "Dick" Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Douglas Thompson (Candy) of Shallotte and Sabrina "Bea" Thompson of Warrenton; her grandson Benjamin Thompson (Virginia) of Alexandria; and her pet Sophie.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Liberty United Methodist Church or The Fauquier SPCA.
