She is survived by: her husband Melvin Sr.; her children, Melvin "Kick" Ellis, Jr. (Holly) of Topeka and Devonia "Rudy" Young (Loren) of Waverly, Virginia; her grandchildren, Christopher, Donte, Adrianne, Xiomarra, Loren Jr., Nasir and Nadia; her siblings, Delbra Holloman (Joseph), Sharon Smith (Terry), Theresa Jones (Anthony), Ada Finney, Ella Artis, Pam Sumler, Cassandra Sumler, Andrew Sumler (Gladis), Marshall King (Karen), Jim King, Dennis King and Jerry King; her siblings-in-law, Angelane Ricks (Clarence), Margaret Eley, Diane Sumler, Charlene Jones, Calvin Ellis (Deborah), Milton Ellis and Gerald Jones; her aunts, Mary Moore, Rosa Lee Sumler, Lillie M.
