It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eldridge Palmore Thornton Sr. (Wakefield, Virginia), who passed away on February 15, 2019, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thornton Sr. and Carrie Stringfield; his siblings, Mary Brown Thornton, John Henry, Joseph Jr and Morris Thornton; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Clark, Mary Stringfield, Florence Thornton, Ada Thornton, Richard Berry and Burnell Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Thornton; his sons, Andre Thornton (Angela) of Newport News, VA, Eldridge Jr of Wakefield and Cedric Thornton (Izzy) of Williamsburg, VA; his siblings, Paris A. Ellis of Florida and Clarence Stringfield of Surry; his siblings-in-law, Mary Berry, Roberta Clark of Hopewell, VA, Estelle Thornton of Newport News, VA, William Brown of Wakefield, Linwood Berry of Hopewell, Mack Berry of Georgia and Melvin Berry of Arizona; his grandchildren, Tiyonda, Joshua, Ce'azia, Jayon, Tykea, Zyija, Cedric Jr. and Camaron; and his great grandchild Cheyanne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
