He was predeceased by: his brother Jack. He is survived by: his wife Jennylee Carman; his children, Bill (Susan), Tom Carman and Judy Sorensen; his grandchildren, Kristin Hilleman (Brent), Mary Carman-Brokaw (Carter), Carrie Carman-Jewers (Peter), John Carman, Joseph (Julia) and William Sorensen; his great grandchildren, Tripp Brokaw, Darby, Emma, Oliver Jewers, Soli Carman, Sydney and Levi Sorensen; and his brothers, Richard and William Carman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
