We are sad to announce that on July 17, 2018, at the age of 87, Joan Bishop Caldwell (Virginia Beach, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Charles C. Caldwell; and her son-in-law William C. Merritt. She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Caldwell Ratliff, Virginia Caldwell Merritt and Dona Leigh Caldwell; her son-in-law James Gilmer Ratliff, Jr. of Virginia Beach; and her grandchildren, James Gilmer Ratliff III, Charles Caldwell Ratliff, Virginia Joan Merritt DeSouza and Joseph M. DeSouza.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
