She is survived by: her son Dr. Theodore Rhodes Smith, Jr.; her grandchildren, Ashley Cooper, Shelley Flood, Dr. Allison Purcell, Dr. Stephanie Smith and Theodore Smith, III; her brother Archie F. Seay (Jo-Anne); her nephew Todd Seay; her niece Ellen Ann Young; and her great-nephew Austin Young. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
