He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Essie Brinkley Bowie; his children, Neverlyn and Don Jr.; his grandsons, Brandon and Arron; his sister E. Marie Youngblood (Fred); and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Orton (V. Wayne) and Howard Dabney. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
