It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deborah Sue Carew (Virginia Beach, Virginia), who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vera Weimer and Paul Weimer; her sister Margaret Davenport; her brothers-in-law, Rom Roper and Jimmy Hall; and her parents-in-law, Philomena and Joseph Carew.
She is survived by: her husband Brendan Carew (BJ); her children, Travis and Ashley Carew; her grandchildren, Serina and Trent Carew; her siblings, Vincent Weimer (Janice), Harry Weimer (Leslie), David Weimer (Debbie), Becky Hall, Sharon Roper, Jane Summerlin (Steve), Claudette Moffett (Bill), Mary Witcher (Allen), Anna Boyd (Bob), Paula Talley (Dave) and Patty Barnhardt (E. C.); her siblings-in-law, Jane Carew, Shane Carew, Greg Carew (Mary) and Hubert Davenport; and her niece Angie Meadows.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel (1485 Kempsville Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23464). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach, VA 23453).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
