It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garnet Carlton Overbey of Virgilina, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on August 31, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Owen and Tressie Trueheart Hite Overbey; his brother Hiter O. Overbey; and his nephew Danny Newton. He is survived by: his wife Judy Morris Overbey; his daughters, Wendy O. Bowen (Dural) and Crystal L. Overbey (Charles); his siblings, Jink Overbey (Carolyn) and Drusilla Newton; his grandchildren, Agatha, Darren, Johnathan Bowen, Trey (Hannah), Cody and Carlton Nester; his goddaughter Patricia M. Tilley (Collin); his grandchildren, Jaycee, Caitlyn and Cayden; and also Barry Nester. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews.
