It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Shingleton Jr. (Vinton, Virginia), who passed away on September 4, 2018, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Wayne Whittington Shingleton, Sr.; and his brother James E. Shingleton. He is survived by: his parent Lucille F. Shingleton; his wife Ernestine Ward; his children, Johnny W. Shingleton (Angie Walker) of Roanoke, VA, Tammy L. Epps (Joseph) of Aulander, NC, Lisa F. Jones (Robert Johnston) of Elizabeth City, NC, Candace Driver (Kenny) of Conway, NC, Gerald Ward (Regina) of Grundy, VA, Kendra Bailey Ward (Robert Persinger) of Vinton, VA, Samantha Clark (John) of Garland, TX, Mary Ward of Greensboro, NC and Denise Ward of Salem, VA; and his siblings, Janet Young (Roy) of Mooresville, Roger Shingleton (Doris) of Gates, NC, Jane Ambrose (Gene) of Gatesville, NC, Connie Norton (Ronald) of Cocoa, FL and Bonnie Eason (Wayne) of Sunbury, NC. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends.
His family will have a memorial service at a later date and asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family to defray costs.
