With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley M. Quarles Bonds of Vinton, Virginia, born in Bedford, Virginia, who passed away on March 21, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Quarles and Zula M. Quarles Smith; her son Robert L. Bonds, Jr.; and her siblings, Louise Gates, Pearl Davis, Mae Lois Bonds, Lena Basham, Frances Waldron, Elizabeth Norrell, Phyllis Watkins, Willis Quarles, Eddie Quarles, Rev. John M. Quarles and Jerome Quarles.
She is survived by: her grandson Robert L. Bonds (Gabby); her siblings, Mary Evans of Roanoke, VA and Robert "Booker" Quarles (Josephine) of Richmond, VA; her sister-in-law Vera Quarles of Goodview, VA; her great-nephew Todd Saunders; her nephew Sonny Evans; and her cousins, CJ and Brenda Bonds. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
