He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Spradlin Gillispie; his son Darrel Gillispie; his grandson Samuel Paige Gillispie II of Raleigh, NC; his sister Gale Hudson; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Spradlin of Roanoke and Timothy Spradlin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
