He was predeceased by: his parents, Pleasant Jones and Dora Perry Jones; his wife Katherine Johnson Jones; and his brothers, Perry and George Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Jones (Andrea) and Judy Milbourne (Roger); his sisters, Alice Crowder, Mary Ann Goad and Betty Britt; and his grandchildren, Brittany Lawhorn, Taylor Lawhorn, Jason McCray and Neil McCray. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
