He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clifford Settles Sr. and Mary Bessie Penticost; his grandparents, Robert E. Penticost, Annie Victoria Blankenship, Millard and Nellie Penticost; and his siblings, James Ernest Settle, Noah M. Settle, Clarence E. Settles, Charles C. Settles Jr., John C. Settles, Mary F. Settle, Helen C. Settle and Virginia G. Settle.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Blythe Settle of Goodview; his children, Victoria Settle of Goodview, VA, Rick Settle of Goodview, VA, Bill, Sally Settle of McAlpin, FL and Mike Settle of Anchorage, AK.; his granddaughters, Callie Wilder (Duncan) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Carlie Settle of Thomasville, GA; his great grandchildren, Henry and William Wilder; his pets, Maggie Mae and Emmett; and his sister-in-law Olive Conklin of Campbell Hall, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
