She was predeceased by: her parents, X. L. Owen and Jessie Davis Owen; her husband Whitmell Clark Brown; her grandson Matthew Clark Carter; and her siblings, Orville Owen, Ruby Roberts and Annie Phelps.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Carter (Larry); and her grandchildren, Ross Watson Carter and Rachel Whitney Carter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
