She was predeceased by: her parents, Frances L. Chitwood and Boyd L. Chisom, Sr.; her husband Rodney G. Smithson, Sr.; and her brothers, Jesse L. Chisom, Sr., Boyd L. Chisom, Jr. and Paul W. Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Heather L. Smithson and Rodney G. Smithson, Jr.; her siblings, Wesley A. Chisom (David), Fay L. Launderville (Randy) and Frances C. Spry; and her pet Angel Marie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lotz Funeral Home (1001 Franklin Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24016). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
