He is survived by: his wife Lori McElveen of Vinton, Virginia; his mother Ella Lays of Henderson; his son Holden McElveen of Minden; his stepsisters, Suellen Perry of Church Hill and Darla Cano of White House; and his aunts and uncles, Bobbie Moores of Henderson, Bryon (Charlotte Taylor), Jimmy (Gerda McElveen), Gail Whimple of Jacksonville and Monty (Emily McElveen).
