He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Massie and Helen Fridley Liptrap; and his siblings, Massie Liptrap, Emmett Liptrap, Jack Liptrap, Joe "Allen" Liptrap, Tookie "Joe" Liptrap, Marie Garnsey, Elizabeth Kern, Janie Prevette and Edna Whiteside.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Liptrap of Bay Village, Scott Liptrap of Vinton, Virginia and Mark Hurley; his grandsons, Hunter Liptrap (Karen), Tanner Liptrap and Keller Liptrap of Bay Village, Ohio; and his great grandchild Peyton Galina Liptrap of Bay Village, Ohio..
