It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Maxey of Vinton, Virginia, who passed away on May 6, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edith Maxey to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Perry O. Maxey; her parents, Joe Bolling and Angie Bolling of Huddleston; her daughter Gloria Maxey Blankenship; her siblings, Malcolm, Russell, Onex, Odell, Clanton, Ray Bolling and Pauline Martin; and her siblings-in-law, Woodrow Martin, Marshall Tuck, Robert Gearheart, Louise, Eunice and Pearl Bolling.
She is survived by: her sons, Mahlon Maxey (Pat) and Lloyd Maxey (Irene); her grandchildren, David Maxey (Tricia), Evan Maxey, Ross Blankenship (Liz), Brett Blankenship (Bridgett) and Margaret Maxey; her great grandchildren, Carter, Addison Blankenship, Lucas Maxey, Anna Perkowski and Rylan Blankenship; her friend David Poage; her siblings, Estelle Gearheart, Magdalene Patterson (Edward), Kathleen Wilkerson (Page), Caroline Tuck and J. R. "Buddy" Bolling (Joanne); and her sisters-in-law, Helen and Naomi Bolling. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 1030 Bible Lane, Vinton, VA 24179.
