He is survived by: his spouse Rebecca "Becky" Dowdy Darnell; his son Donald Darrell Darnell II (Sue Lottermoser); his sister Evelyn Darnell Campbell; and his sisters-in-law, Mickey Dowdy Patterson (Nat), Ruby Dowdy (Carl) and Joan Dowdy (Tommy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
