She was predeceased by: her parent Charles Shorter; her husband Millard L. Deacon; and her siblings, Lena Cash, Florence Deacon, Otey Shorter and Clarence Shorter.
She is survived by: her parent Lelia Bowyer Shorter; her daughter Carolyn D. Looney (Houston); her grandchildren, Heather Crislip-Looney and Brian Looney; and her great grandchildren, Brandon Scott Wheeler, Haylee Crislip and Ty Looney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
