He was predeceased by: his father Clinton E.; his former wife Brenda; and his siblings, Calvin and Barbara. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Brown Carter; his children, David Carter and Teresa Marsh (Jeff); his stepchildren, Malissa, Robin, Linda and Jimmy; his sister Sylvia Ribble (Ed); his grandchildren, Jesse Carter (Crystal), Trevor Haynes (Marris), Nathan Haynes (Abby), Karen Ispas (Doey) and Ryan Marsh; his stepgrandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Anthony, Charleigh, Jesse, Sydni, Wesley, Jasmine and Kolby; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Berkeley, Lillian, Gabriel and Emma; and his close friends, Sonny Arrington and Buddy Adams. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
