He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Byrd Hart Wills and Lynn Franklin Wills; and his brothers, Lynn "Sonny" Wills, Jr., Richard "Dickie" Wills and Mark Wills.
He is survived by: his children, Jared Wills of San Diego and Calif (Jessica Ewell); his grandchildren, Kayleigh and Laurelyn; his siblings, David Wills of Concord, Elaine Steele of Rustburg and Teresa Gipson; and his friend Mike Booth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
