He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry Ellis and Jennie Rosetta Brown Ellis; and his brothers, Lawrence, Charles "Dayton", Francis "Skinny Mack", George "Jake" and James "Jimmy".
He is survived by: his wife Maria Williams; his children, Nicola "Cody" Curry (Eric), Ivory Ellis and Timothy Ruffner; his siblings, Donald, William Ellis and Deloris Emerson; his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ellis, Vernell Ellis, Gloria Carter and Sylvia Johnson; his grandchildren, Cayla, Carli, Cyn-Tia, Eshente, Serenity and Royal; and also Warren.
