She is survived by: her significant other Franklin "Jerry" Thompson of Leesburg, VA; her children, Joel Thompson (Donna Thompson) of Westminster, SC and April Whetsell (Dan Whetsell) of Purcellville, VA.; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Rogers (Elizabeth Rogers) of Warrenton, VA., Laura Duhring (John Duhring) of Round Hill, Katherine Whetsell Pond (Glen Pond) of San Diego, William Whetsell (Jannet Whetsell) of Round Hill, Ryan Kyle (Alex Kyle) of Pulaski and Garrett Thompson. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends.

“I was so saddened to receive the news of Sharon's passing. I did not know she had been unwell and that she and Jerry had moved to Leesburg. The last time I saw Sharon was outside Epiphany doing what she loved to do best, care for the plants, bushes, and other greenery. This was her love and the church always looked so beautiful, as did her home. Sharon was always upbeat and i just loved talking with her. She was also a very dedicated figure around the church. Dave Lough sends his love.”
