She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence H. Averill and Margaret Mae Wood Averill; her husband James Ross McKay, Sr.; her son James Ross McKay, Jr.; her brother Richard Averill; and her granddaughter Tiffany McKay.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen McKay and Lawrence McKay; her daughter-in-law Lisa McKay; her grandchildren, Kristen, April (Josh), Kelly (Matthew), Nicole, Jimmy, Maggie and Annie; and her great grandchildren, Riley, Summer, Troy, Autumn, Savannah, Maverick, Hope, Hunter, Matthew and Casch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Fairfax United Methodist Church, 10300 Stratford Ave., Fairfax, Virginia 22030.
